This place has turned to a joke. I have eaten there many times in the past. Many Many Times. I was there eating when Beth and Bob were in the beginning stages of Brothers. Something has changed. It just is not right. The waitstaff is beyond slow, and very unattentive. The BIG Chocolate Chip Cookies have shrunken down majorly. The scones are truly crap, when they used to be one of the best reasons to go to Brothers. The coffee is extremely weak, and so is the attitude of the owner. I tried to express my concerns to him, but he just blew it off. I told him I have been coming here for years and things are changing he said to me and I quote " There are other places for you to go if you don't like it here. I am not going to lose sleep over losing your weekly omelette and coffee". That is just not right. He should be more into customer comments. He is there to collect money and doesn't care about the service or the food. I won't be going back, and I am sure many others won't be either. Brothers in Ashland is a RIPOFF.

Wow! The last few diners must have caught Brothers on a bad day, because this place has been an Ashland landmark for years and it still rocks. Varied menu, yes a bit on the pricey side, great location, excellent coffee and, OK, the wait staff can be a bit slow. But, I've never had a bad meal in over 15 years of eating there. Give it a try and report back.

This place Sucks. Coffee sucks. Food Sucks. Service Sucks. Everything about it sucks. The prices really suck. I got runny eggs and raw hash browns. That is what I wanted to spend close to $20 bucks on. Watered down coffee got my day going. I brought back a scone to have at home and it was gross. It had no taste and crumbled to dust. It sucked. Brothers Restaurant Sucks. Read the reviews. They all say it sucks.
It really does.

I am torn between pretty bad and rotten. This place is stuck in the middle. I like to review all the places that I eat at, and decided to see what was up with all the negativity on Brother's. I see excactly what is up with this place. It sucks. The service sucks. The food is over priced and not that good. I was expecting a nice omelet with all the fillings inside. What the hell, everything was mixed in the eggs except the cheese. It is like a scrambe folded over with cheese in the middle. Give me a break. That is not an omelet. Absolutely no charisma to the goat tee waiter and he seems to not like his job as his attitude towards questions is horiffic. The whole thing was a bad experience. Nothing more, I mean that. It was truly nothing more than a bad experience. This place should close it's doors and stop serving it's over priced and under flavored food to customers. There is also no consistency. My wife and I both ordered has browns with our meal. Hers were almost twice the size mine were and way under cooked. I received a miniscule amount compared to hers, and mine were basically burnt on the outside, raw on the inside and just un appettizing. Forget this place. It is not worth it.

My wife and I live in Southern California and have been coming to Oregon to see family and having been going to Brothers Restaurant for about 25 years now. We loved going to Brothers.
We used to get some of the best breakfast ever there. This year we were told that Brothers had new owners, and the food was not like it used to be. Well, we are pretty much sticklers and like to stick with the same routine. We figured it is Brothers, how much could have changed. Well, I must say a lot has changed. The inside has been nicely remodelled. It was a big change for us to see. Unfortunately for Brothers the food quality has definitely changed also. How bad could it honestly be, it was pretty bad. The food is just horrible. It is completely tasteless, has very poor quality, and whoever is cooking it needs to find a new line of work. Prices have skyrocketed you definitely get a lot less than you used to get and it just plain out does not taste good. You could see that there is no commitment by the workers to get the food looking good as well as tasting good. It basically looks like it was just tossed onto the plate. The waitstaff has absolutely no personality. It is just a completely different environment than it used to be. Definitely not as busy as I remember it being and I understand why. They should have put more effort into the food quality, and workers than emphasizing on the remodeling. Even there signature Brothers Mothers Soup that we have had and know the taste for so many years has depleted in flavor and context. The crepes have definitely changed in size, color, texture, and taste. It is not a good change. All for all, it was just a complete waste of time and money. We could barely stomach eating it and left more than 3/4 of our food there. Big Ripoff. Thanks for Nothing Brothers.

Where should I start. The incompitent wait staff who has no manners, and no respect for the customer, or should I start with the unappetizing food. I will start with the incompitent wait staff. They are just plain out rude, uncaring, and obviously miserable with there job and should not be working in the hospitality field. They are unattentive and could not care less if you are satisfied with your food or would like a coffee refilled. They rush you out as fast as they can. They are more interested in the turnover than letting people relax and enjoy there meal. I had a few questions about the menu items and was given looks by the waiter like there was something wrong with me. Then when the food came it was not at all what I ordered. I told him that, and he just gave a snyed remark when he turned around and took it off the table and walked away. The eggs were very runny and very tasteless. My Hashbrowns were way under done and had that raw potato taste to them. They were not at all seasoned and bland as could be. It was just a bad breakfast. My fiance's food was also terrible. Once again very runny eggs. It was the wettest omelet I have ever seen. They said it was not the eggs it was from the tomatoes inside. I am sorry, but that was not the case. Besides the outrageous price for such a small portion the whole Brothers Experience was very undesirable and I will not be returning. It is unfortunate as I was a loyal customer there for a while and left town for about a year. I came back to new owners and bad food. A total disappointment.

I should have checked the reviews. This place is off the wall priced, and basically one of the worst places that I have eaten breakfast at. I should have gone to Denny's. I would have been better off with an egg mcmuffin at Mickey D's as that would have had more flavor than what I had at Brothers. They need to get some people who know what there doing cooking wise, and get some waitstaff with personality. I give this a D- for sure.

This used to be a good restaurant, however that was when the original owners where there. They wound up selling and now the new owner is ridiculous. He is raising prices and the food quality has gone way way down. I honestly don't think that he has a clue what he is doing. This place is going to be run into the ground soon. It does get busy, however that is from return customers from previous years and for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. A lot of locals are turning away. The staff is very unatentive, and really does not care about the customer. You can tell they are just there for a paycheck. Brothers Restaurant in Ashland needs to close it's doors and step away. Believe me you won't be missing anything by not going to Brothers.

This local's breakfast restaurant has been around for over 30 years and serves a great menu. Everything from traditional to tofu. Good coffee and espresso options. Service can be hit and miss, but great food. Fun atmosphere in the heart of downtown Ashland. Can be a bit crowded on the weekend. Go early.
