This is my favorite breakfast place, but it is a neighborhood place where strangers are tolerated so be polite if you want to have a pleasant experience. Demanding pushy strangers soon find out how unwelcome they are, which is funny to watch.

Its tiny inside, and old school, and regulars send postcards from around the world, counter conversation is immortalized in napkin art, and framed on the walls.

I'd never have reviewed it had they not extended their hours so I don't have to wait 30 minutes to eat here any longer.

Great food and excellent coffee.

The service can be a bit "lacking" at times if you're not a favored regular, but it is by no means bad.

Excellent atmosphere inside, and it's in one of the more attractive Portland neighborhoods. Have a great breakfast here, and then take some time to wander around one of the more beautiful neighborhoods of the most beautiful city in America. And definitely visit one of the small independent book stores within walking distance.

Highly recommended.
