Nice gourmet breakfast - limited menu. Chef owned & operated. Great outdoor patio - no indoor seating. Parking can be challanging - use the city structure across the railroad tracks off Camino Capistrano Street.

There's a reason why this restaurant, which serves only breakfast and lunch (they're open 8:30-3, closed Monday), has received the HIGHEST Zagat rating for food among ALL restaurants in Orange County (in 2004 & 2006). The food is to die for! Weekends feature a fixed price $25 brunch in which you choose a drink, a starter, and an entree. The last time I was there (back in 11/2004 -- I need to get back there!), I got the blueberry coffeecake, crab hash with smoked bacon, scrambled eggs and sour cream remoulade --yummy! You are seated in a nice intimate patio with throw blankets draped over each chair for you to use to fend off the morning chill. Be sure to check out the really cool old-fashioned washroom complete with those overhead whatchamacallit water tanks. Well worth a visit; note that the restaurant is a bit hard to find.
