After a movie my family was going to go to gaffer's to get a bite to eat. As we went up, there were people smoking and drinking on the sidewalk, not a good sign for any restaurant. We should've turned back, but we didn't. When we walked close to then door we saw it was kind of like a bar. UGH. When we were in the doorway it smelled of rancid oil. We quickly turned around and went away.

This place is living off an old reputation. It used to be good. Their fish in the "fish & chips" dish, are very greasy, and sometimes, the fish seems almost spoiled. They try to get too much mileage, out of their cooking oil. They also cook their fish in oil that's not hot enough, should be 370 degrees. The cook here needs a class in frying food, and choosing fresh food, to serve. This place is more of a neighborhood tavern, and less of a restaurant.

This is really a bar, not a restaurant. The fish and chips are ok, but not worth driving for. The fries, definitely not worth driving for. Bottom line, it's an ordinary bar with above average fish, and below average chips. It's a bar, folks.
