I have read many bad reviews on this resteraunt and almost skipped it because of them. However we were having a late breakfast (noon) so we decided to give it a try.
I am so we did. it was one of the best breakfasts we ever had! The food was very good! I had the eggs benidect and it was truly amazing! We had great service. Maybe because we ate late? Any, It was worth it, and I would eat there again!

This place is SOOOOO slow. The employees are rude and the food is ok at best. I can't really decide between biggest ripoff or worst service. Seriously, if you are visting this area check out Thyme in the Ranch located in Rancho Santa Fe. Avoid Americana! Plus, I have met several people who have worked for the owner of Americana and according to them he is a world class jerk.

got the impression this place goes the extra mile to use quality ingredients .... if you're happy at Denny's don't bother with this place. If you shop at a Whole Food type market and like quality food this place will satisfy your taste buds and hopefully your heart.
our waiter was a little slow ... but food was worth the wait. I had the portabela mushroom/ goat cheese omlete which was good but very rich .... coffee was good too, very important for me!

Food was very good. However the service was sooooo bad that we would never go back and we are local! They never offered a refill on the coffee or iced tea - did not mention the specials - they took 30 minutes to make eggs (nothing fancy) - and they just plain did not care! Another patron commented that the service there is always very slow. I do not know how they stay in business.

food is spectacular, but if you're already hungry when you get there, you may starve before you get what you ordered!

seriously, the service is awful, but the food is so good we keep going back anyway. try the portobello omelette. it's addictive!
