Really good breakfasts with the added attraction of some Mexican breakfast ideas like sopes and eggs and homemade chorizo.....and the coffee is great! they bring it green from Mexico (sustainable, fair traded) and have it roasted for them. They aren't packed on the weekends yet, but get there pronto as there is bound to be a wait soon.

I found a 'Cheap Eats' resturant in Ballard today which, I believe, deserves to succeed. Having been to all of the well known spots, I was surprised to find that the old Jonny's (sp?) had been refurbished and was now CafeMoose. Previously Jonny's, next to CarterWallace Saab, had been a bit dingy and tired, but Kathleen Andersen, back in the US with a Mexican Chef and quasi Amer-Mex breakfasts, has the courage to give it a go. I found her food to be far better than the greasy but much ballyhood Salmon Bay Cafe, two blocks east, cum four star raves. What CafeMoose lacks in decor, was made up for in piping hot food and real taste. I don't know her, but asked for her card, knowing she deserves her share of the weekend crowd in Ballard:
