We ate there this morning based on the reviews here. The food was pretty good, not something I would rave about. The two (minor) complaints, the biscuit was so salty I couldn't eat it and turned it back. The waitress in our section had a slight case of tunnel vision. She didn't really pay much attention to those table around her. Other than that, it was pretty good.

We'll go back, its was good enough for that. Just won't order the biscuits again.

One of those, "Where the locals" eat restaurants. The food was excellent, service was fast, and when we visited clientele consisted of families as well as a senior crowd of locals. You seat yourself and the staff was quick to bring the menu. Portions were very healthy, the food was served quickly, and our waitress never let my coffee cup below 1/4 full. If you are a local or visitor to Melbourne, The Old Village will not disappoint.
