This place has a very friendly staff and large portions. They make
a terrific omelette. However, they have next to no variety in breads - they typically serve tasteless white bread with an equally tasteless rye as the only alternative. Bacon and sausage are sub-par. We used to go there weekly, but stopped when we discovered several far better options.

Great place to eat. Love the potatoes. Service is great. A place you do not mind to wait for a table.

I'm a local, and Fat Nat's is a great spot. I went with my wife this morning- big portions, hot food, and coffee. If eggs benedict is your breakfast of choice, don't miss this spot.

This place is really, really good. We got there a little after 9:00 AM on a Saturday and only had to wait a moment for them to clear off a table. If we wanted to eat at the counter, there were plenty of seats ready with no wait. They've expanded into the space of the store that used to be next door, so now they have at least twice the seating as they did when I visited a few years ago. When we left closer to 10, there were a few parties waiting, but no one had been there more than five minutes.

And now let's talk about the food. The portions are huge and the food is very tasty. There are all of the traditional diner options on the menu, but they have several additional ones that are inspired by Mexican or Tex-Mex flavors: huevos rancheros, omelettes with shredded pork and salsa, and other awesome flavors. Eggs Benedict also have a prominent spot on the menu. My hash browns were done to perfection, and this is one of the first places in Minneapolis where I found biscuits and gravy. Their coffee comes in nice large mugs, and anyone on the waitstaff will refill it for you; they work together so you don't have to wait if your server is busy with a big party.

While planning a week-end get away up to the Twin Cities we found Fat Nat's Eggs and checked it out Saturday morning and ended up heading there on Sunday morning as well, it was that good and we loved it! Their eggs benedict are the best I've had anywhere, even better then at fancy smancy places. Everything about the eggs bendict was perfection: the english muffin; the candian bacon; the poached egg and the hollandise sauce were all executed perfectly making this old time stand by outstanding. It was so good I had it both Saturday and Sunday! The wild rice soup was very satisfying and one of the better ones I have tried. The omlets were gigantic and also excellent. We did not need to eat until much later both evenings since we were so well fueled. The price for the quality and quanity were very fair.

Man, I love this place!! My wife and i have eaten here a multitude of times, and come away full and satisfied. Service is prompt and friendly. you get so much food that i am full for the rest of the day. The only thing i don't like is there salsa (not a big chuncky salsa person), other than that i can't say enough good things about this place. If you go there on a weekend, I would suggest to you to get yer butt out of bed and get there early, otherwise you will be waiting a while for a table.

This was truly the best breakfast I have had in Minnesota. Originally being from New Jersey it does a great job of matching the diner quality food that I was used to.

Ahhh, now THIS is how I remember breakfast at neighborhood Diners of the 50's and 60's. You can tell that breakfast is made by someone who LOVES breakfast rather than having plotted the ingredients and expenses on an Excell spreadsheet. TOPS! So glad to have a Fat Nats in town after having lost so many great breakfast Diners over the last twelve years.

Try the Julie's. Its the best on the menu. Fast service with a smile. And if your lucky you may get a peak at Fat Nat himself.
