For reference, my benchmark 5-egg breakfast place is Breadwinners Cafe in Dallas, TX. By comparison, this place gets 3 eggs. Nice atmosphere in a good location, but the food was only slightly above average. We tried the pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict, hash browns, and coffee. The pancakes were a little better than Denny's...the four of us agreed they were done correctly, but lacked any distinctive flavor (the smoked ham on the eggs benedict was a nice touch). The same held true for the rest of the breakfast...a little above average, but not stellar. That would mean 4-eggs. What drops it to 3 is the 60-80 minute wait time to be seated. Once finally seated, service is exceptionally fast, pleasant, and attentive.

One of my favorite paces for breakfast when I'm in town. Their pancakes are always good and their smoked turkey hash is amazing. Prices aren't too bad. The servings are big. Waitress are very sweet and check that you're doing okay or if you need anything.

Anyone who doesn't think Magnolia's is the best breakfast in San Antonio doesn't know breakfast. They are 5-star all the way.

This place has amazing, gourmetisch breakfast...not a greasy spoon place in the least (although I love those greasy spoons - see Mickey's Diner in St. Paul, MN; Andy's Restaurant in Highland Falls, NY; and Sunrise Luncheonette in Eatontown, NJ). The pancakes are light, airy, and don't require any butter or syrup if you like, the egg dishes are creative and tasty, the coffee is flavorful and good to the palette (not burned like Starbucks) and the service is good. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves their breakfast.

I eat out at least nine times a week and consider the Magnolia Pancake house an average eatery. Everything was good, but not any better than I've eaten at many other restaurants accross the city.

I live north of Fort Worth. I fly to San Antonio at least twice a month, just so my dad and I can eat here for breakfast. "Joe's Eggs" are my favorite!
The pancakes are out of this world and the applewood smoked bacon is delicious.
Great atmosphere. Great staff. Very busy on weekends , but in the 5 years I've been going here, I've never had to wait more than 30 mins.

Simply the best breakfast in San Antonio. The pecan waffles were excellent. The sausage is not your typical Denny's or IHOP brand- it is 100 times better. The hash browns are very good too.

I highly recommend this place. The locals love it.

You will enjoy the breakfasts here. Staff is average and not very interactive, but they get the job done with a minimal amount of talking. Egg dishes are fine but pancakes are where this restaurant shines. Lite and delicious.

THE BEST BREAKFAST in San Antonio on an EVERYDAY basis.(closed Mondays) Gingerbread Pancakes TO DIE FOR...wonderful breakfast menu! Friendly staff and comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Plan to wait on Sunday mornings...but it's well worth it.
