I love this place it's awesome. The mashed potatoes are amazing and same with the homefries. If you want a delicious belgian waffle or hollandaise and eggs. The falaffel is amazing too. I love this place and its worth the drive.

I've been to Amphora 2 or 3 times, usually as an afterthought. I've never been there during the rush times, but the service is always slow. Since I typically do take-out, I can't speak to the waitstaff, but the counter staff aren't the friendliest people in the world. Each time I've been there, the item that I've wanted from the menu has been unavailable. I'm not talking caviar, but something like a sesame bagel with cream cheese.

I guess I was spoiled by the Amphora Restaurant in Vienna, VA. Unfortunately, the Amphora Deluxe in Herndon serves a marginal breakfast at best. Food is not prepared properly and not hot when served. "Toast does not improve with age." Coffee is so-so. (At least the servers are courteous and friendly). I find Anita's just up the street a much nicer and more satisfying place to have breakfast.

I have a hard time believing the other reviewers who said this place is a dump?!?
This is one of my hands down favorite places to go to eat in Herndon. They have a nice selection of breakfast items... some "upscale" omelets so to speak, blintzes, crepes, and the bakery case in the front that displays their cakes and pastries...yum! Service has always been good! It does get pretty busy there, and the waitstaff has always been accommodating! I have gone there for Mother's Day a few times and have been pleased every time...not just breakfast, but other meals too!

Its not a complete dump. It doesn't look dirty, but there are alot of people coming through this place especially on the weekend. Food is ok, they have good crepes.

Restaurant is dirty, service is awful, food is lousy. I don't know what the Amphora bribed the other reviewer, but this place is the worst in the area in my opinion.

This gem is worth a drive: There's a cocktail bar; the waiters wear white coats and bow ties; they bring you bakery-fresh sun-dried-tomato or cranberry-walnut bread; they serve peanut-butter pancakes. Open 24-7, Amphora has 350 menu choices, all available at any time of day.
