The Silver Spur is always packed for a reason. The breakfast is delicious and even though there are just a few tables, the wait is worth it all. Definitely try to banana pancakes and the biscuits. I don't think it's open Sundays.

Very good breakfast. Place is very busy, but worth the wait. Banana-Walnut pancakes were great and the ham slices were fantastic. Loved the home-fried potatoes and the flatiron steak was tasty and very lean. We would go back again.

Best breakfast in Santa Cruz hands down. If you don't get there by 8:00 am expect a wait. On Saturday there is always a wait (up to 45 minutes for the late risers). Opens nice and early at 6:00! The menu spans from extreme carnivore to vegan. Best pancakes in the universe with a specialty pancake offered daily ( apples & walnuts, orange & poppyseed, etc) Favorities are the pesto scramble and the mexican omlette. Local's tip: You can swap out the bread for a pancake of your choice and the potatoes for a fruit cup with NO extra charge.

This is where i go if i want a meal that will last me all day.

I always have to wait to get a table here, it seems to be the place to go if you have kids or are older than 30. Not that that should deter you because its excellent. The waitstaff seems particularly attentive to its regulars.

I always get an omelette, the mexican (beans, sourcream, guac, cheese, chiles) or the sea horse- fetacheese, avocado, shrimp . my bf likes the whole hog.. its something big and has ham.

I particularly like the option of bread choices- 2 fluffy buttery homemade biscuits (my choice), toast, or tortillas. the omelettes also come with homefried potatoes, which are good, but not particularly astounding, just lightly seasoned. there is salsa at the table though. they have a rotating selection of coffeecakes and the like, i have tried both the spice cake (amazing, never had one so full of sugar and spices) and the chocolate chip pound cake (which i was reluctant to order, but was super). so far so good.

omelette's are between $7- 8.50 i think... they have pancakes and scrambles and a lunch menu too w/ a surprizing variety.
they are closed sunday though (churchgoers maybe), so ... yes,... dont go sunday ;)
and oh yeah, they have a community table, so if you come alone or with a another, you guys can have company if you so desire
