This hole in the wall is about as bad as they come. Food sucks, service sucks, it just plain sucks. It gets away with being so bad because it is the only restaurant in the little town of Honor. You would be better off driving 7 or 10 miles down the road to Beulah or Benzonia to get some real food.

It's been thirty years since the last visit by my brother and I to Honor, Mi., since my move to Florida 26 years ago. We used to go for the Coho fishing and used to eat only at Money's Diner when Lou and Marvel were still around. It was great that some things do not change. We had a great breakfast every morning and found out their grown up children are now running the business. Good food, good prices and really good people in Honor. I highly recommend Money's!

This place is terrible. The food and service are the worst I've ever seen. We went there for dinner while on vacation on June 6, 2009.
We were served french fries that were hours old that had been reheated. They were disgusting and inedible. The chicken dinners we ordered were supposed to come with bread that we never received. It took 15 minutes to flag down our waitress (who appeared just barely old enough to even have a work permit) to tell her she had forgotten our drinks.
Our whole experience at the Platte River Inn was horrible. This is a cheesy rinky-dink operation serving garbage for food and bad service to boot. It was a total waste of money and we had to go away hungry.

Money's is well worth the visit! They serve the best breakfast around at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and committed to service. The owners/managers are usually about and are a wealth of information for locals and tourists alike. Money's Platte River Inn is an institution in Benzie county.

Those of you who have chased the steelhead runs on the Betsie and Platte rivers know about Money's. It's the perfect place (and the only one in town) to fill up on a hearty northern Michigan breakfast before spending the day on the river snagging big steelies.
Located in Honor, a little one street town about 45 minutes west of Traverse City, Money's has a small town warmth and a cozy, glossed wood lodge interior. Sit by the hearthed fireplace or take a seat at the large front window and watch life go slowly by as you sip your coffee. Taxidermy abounds. Adorning the walls, northern Michigan beast, fowl and fish gaze at you from every angle.
The fare is always fresh and delicious. Eggs to order and some of the best bacon I have ever eaten -- rashers that seem freshly carved right from the fatback.
In the evening, Money's dinner buffet is... well, I guess that's another story.
