You can trust all the positive reviews here: this place is an ideal breakfast spot. The portions are gi-normous, particularly the cinnamon rolls. My wife and I made the rookie mistake of ordering the cinnamon roll for just the two of us and ordering full breakfast on top of that. We only managed to finish a quarter of the roll and barely touched our breakfasts. Next time, we'll bring friends to help finish the cinnamon roll and we'll split a breakfast. Although, we did get to enjoy the cinnamon roll leftovers for another day...

The real reason to return though was that the food was really good. I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and my wife really liked her scramble. The cinnamon roll is one of the best I've ever had. It's topped with a lake of icing. Sounds like I need to go back soon.

Best breakfast ever-home fries have a touch of cumin and are done any way you want-I like mine on the crispy side, and the cook did them to perfection. Husband is a cinnamon roll connoisseur and he agrees that they are indeed the size of "small countries"-he got 2 meals out of one!
FYI: Alot of folks know about this gem of a restaurant=which means an hr wait on the wkends.

Best breakfast around. Be prepared to wait on weekends but it's well worth it. Be sure you go on an empty stomach or plan on splitting your meal with someone else. Don't forget a cinnamon roll! They have their menu online now at www.maltbycafe.com

There's a long wait for a reason. The Maltby Cafe provides excellent service and superior food in a comfortable setting. They have a great variety of meals. I definitely recommend the drive out to this little town. You won't leave hungry!

There are some dining experiences that transcend the words incredible and outstanding and even pass the stage of 100% excellence. This directly relates to all of the Egg Benedict selections on the Maltby's breakfast menu. The potatoes are cooked to perfection and the eggs are done the same way - you will NEVER find anything overcooked - the sauce will take you to the moon - every bite will be a T4 (total taste tempting treat). Eat nothing before you go as they aren't skimmpy with portion control. Whether you live in Tacoma or Everett or Idaho - it is well worth the drive to experience this breakfast. Go early to get a seat. If they are full you can also sit at the counter which is fun. The service is also outstanding - you won't be waiting forever with a waitperson who forgets to come back to refill your coffee cup (which is also top drawer). The link sausage is quality super!! Be sure to take home some of their fabulous cinnamon rolls. Lots to do in the surrounding area - check out nearby Plant World after breakfast. You will return to the Maltby time and time again.

Cinnamon rolls the size of small countries. Hot coffee and lots of it. A huge breakfast menu, with everything your heart desires - from "healthy" options to biscuits and gravy to even low-carb items. What more could you want?

Well, maybe a shorter line - this place is packed on the weekends, but there is a mini-mall next door and they will call you when your table is ready. It's worth the wait though; this is one of my favorite breakfast places.

Their lunches are good too.
