Service is laid back just like the town. IF you are in rush this is NOT the place.
This is a place to unwind, relax and forget your problems.
EVERYTHING is worth the wait.
It gives you the time to ponder why am I busting my back everyday and to do what? Have chance once in a great while to relax like these people do everyday?
The food is fresh and well made, the service is attentive and friendly. (some of the girls that work there could be models) the coffee is fresh, hot and in a REAL cup. The pancakes are like birthday cakes and muffins like everything else is made on premises.
You can't go wrong with a breakfast/brunch at SWEET SUE'S !!!!!

I go to Sweet Sues everytime I visit my dear friends in the Catskills for quite a few years now. Often times in recent years I've waited patiently because the food is worth recommending and hence the lines have begun. That's ok by me because when I'm in Phonecia I'm in no hurry! It's true that the blueberry pancakes are tasty and belly bustin and any of their egg dishes with vegetables will leave a positive memory. Home fries aren't exactly a health food to begin with but if you don't mind the carbs & fat you might as well try Sweet Sues... very good with fried eggs and toast. The only thing I really haven't enjoyed there is the coffee. I wish they would serve Green Mountain, Pinot, or one of the Nicaraguan beans I get at Trader Joes! I've never had a problem with the service yet but I suppose someone might have had a bad day (either the waitress or the customer) considering some of the reviews left about that issue.

I've been a huge fan of sweet sues since the last 3 years. We are weekenders from the city, huge restaurant snobs. Sweet sues gets huge marks!!! The egg pita is my pick, blue monkey pancakes are just incredible. This place gives us a great pride living in the catskills ALWAYS bring guest there and they rave about this place. You won't be dissapointed.

Hi! I am Sweet Sue's sister and the hostess on one of the busiest days: Sundays! I thank all of you loyal customers for being so incredibly patient. I am quite certain that for most of you it is well worth the wait!
I consider myself incredibly fortunate for so many reasons. First and foremost to be Sue's sister and second to be able to hostess in one of my favorite place. It is my favorite place not only because of the food, but because of all of you!
Not only is Sue one of the hardest workers that I know, she is truly one of the most giving individuals that I know. I think it is amazing that she creates the food that she does and does so under the most incredible pressure. I am proud to work at Sweet Sue's and feel so fortunate to have her as a sister!! I look forward to seeing all of you on Sundays when I work and hopefully will ALWAYS welcome you with a smile!!

My wife and I were visiting from Hollywood Florida, read the reviews and had to try it. Made it in on our way home this past Monday and we had a fantastic meal and the most pleasant service. Who ever said that New Yorkers are rude. Not this waitress, she is charming and sweet. Hope to visit soon for more pancakes. Great time, worth the trip!

I took my son to Sue's for the first time because he did not believe they had the best pancakes...after one bite he said "dad, you finally are right about something" He can't wait to go back.

A yuppie magnet at it's finest. Portions are big however service lacks luster most of the time. Better management required to coincide with $9.00 pancakes.

Myself and some friends stopped for lunch on our way home from being up for the Celtic festival and a nice hike up Devil's Path to Plateau. We had read about Sweet Sue's in Backpacker magazine and we were thrilled with the results. All of our food was incredible, the service was good, and everyone was nice. We will surely be back because we each have multiple items on the menu that we want to try.
The only problem we had was with the jerk who had his dog locked in the car for about an hour while we were eating lunch. Why can't people understand to either take the dog out and with you or leave the poor thing at home. Locking your dog in the car for an extended period of time is just cruel.

We were there on 6/28/08 with 3 boys (10 yrs old), 2 dogs and ourselves. The food was great, the service was quite good and all in all it was a great place to have breakfast. Incredible pancakes, delicious coffee, we will be back!

Okay city slickers get a clue. It's upstate, its laid back, and its NOT McDonalds. Its noisy because its got families or happy skiers or hikers, its slow because its small and the staff takes a minute to connect with you. Need a quick bite stay in NYC, want fresh air and a slower pace and great coffee and pancakes come to the locals favorite place: Sues!

Really expensive, really loud, really trendy. Food is nothing to write home about - dry pancakes, greasy potatoes, long long long wait.

My wife and I were at Sweet Sues for the 1st time on Monday. The place was great ,busy for a hole in the wall. Couldn't believe the waitress had the whole restaurant and treated us like we were the only ones there. Took time to answer all of questions, and was patient and helpful from biginning to the end when she insisted to wrap our food for a delicious snack later. Incredible food. Can't wait to return! A great find!

Discovered this gem two years ago on a weekend getaway. About an hour and a half drive from home, have since made trips just to visit the restaurant! Well worth the drive...the naysayers can't be talking about the same food, staff or restaurant.

Double that rating for the pancakes alone. We drive almost three hours to have pancakes at Sweet Sues. In addition we ask our hunting and fishing friends who are in the area to bring us back some.

Sweet Sue's offers a refreshing mix of both classic and innovative pancakes, and is worth the 30 minute drive from Kingston (Exit 19 on NYS Thruway). The fresh squeezed orange juice also comes highly recommended.
Warning: No one but the hungriest can eat more than two of Sweet Sue's pancakes, so order conservatively. You can always ask for more!

If everyone ate breakfast at Sweet Sue's there would be no more wars. Everyone would be too happy and too full to even contemplate such things.
Sweet Sue, you put joy on the plate and peace in the mind.
Thanks Sweet Sue; wherever you are.
