After the original owner's sold, the place went down. It is now closed. bad service and bad food take their toll.

WOW were to start..... The owners before were very nice but latly this place is falling off my breakfast map fast!!! I order 2 eggs and sausage, hash browns, and toast. Everything on the plate was nasty. Eggs tasted like they were cooked in burnt butter, sausage looked like 2 black french fries and the toast was burnt. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!

Used to be a great place to take my son for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Now a new owner has ousted the friendly, experienced staff he had, is skimping on the portion sizes, and now you can't even order an omelette without having to send it back because your eggs are raw inside-and the cook tries to argue with the waitstaff that the pools of raw egg is 'just the cheese'. This place is going downhill fast!!!!

This was once my go-to breakfast restaurant for over 10 years, always knew what to expect, good food, great prices, and the great service from the experienced waitstaff.

The morning waitstaff there (Denise and Shirley) had over 45 years experience , they ran the place efficiently, always had a kind word to the customers, and did an excellent job.

Went back today to find out that a new owner has taken over, forced out my girls, kept the most inefficient waitresses, and has started to raise prices. I waited over 20 minutes for 2 eggs and sausage, the conversation nil and the portions seemed to be shrinking.

Biggest insult here is the new owner has "Del Mar a Royal Oak Tradition" all over the place. He forces out waitresses that had 20 years plus experience, and ruins a great restaurant. This place is going down hill fast, but mostly don't eat here because this guy is forcing great waitresses out of work with no where to turn. I know there's no such thing as a service unions for these small restaurants, but this guy is the best argument to organize one, all that and his food sucks!

If you have out-of-town guests and you don't feel like making them breakfast because they kept you up too late, perhaps bending your elbow ... DelMar's it is! Nothing fancy here, and some of the waitresses would rather give you guff than take any, but I find those ones the best. Lovably surly, treat 'em right, tip 'em well, and they will take excellent care of you. Relax and eat the piles of fresh hot food they serve. - Tell your cardiologist to stick it in his ear and try the breakfast special. - Lots of good lunch and dinner choices too.

Delmar's is the go to place for breakfast! Go before 9am on Sunday to avoid the church crowd. If you are there early, you will see the local bakery (Herman'S) deliver fresh pies daily

Recently Delmar was made completely NON-SMOKING, which is absolutely necessary for breakfast in my opinion. That alone has improved the restaurant immensely - it seems much cleaner and more comfortable and I swear the waitstaff is more cheerful too. :) I think it's a good everyday kind of restaurant. They also take credit cards now too.

I just ate hereabout two weeks ago and thought it was okay. It's not very clean, and that bothered me. however coffee refills wasn,t bad, since I love coffee. The waitresses seem really tough bunch, it''s kinda funny. I probably will go back.

A medium sized family restaurant with Greek/Italian/American food that has been around Royal Oak for years. Owned and operated by wife and husband, Tony and Gus and their son Pete. The food is good and the owners are most often on the premises. No credit cards or checks and the place is divided almost in half as to smoking and no smoking. Two televisions are wall mounted usually showing the news. Delmar's enjoys an excellent reputation around Royal Oak. Sunday mornings could mean a short wait for a table. Service is generally swift, lead by Denise, Shirley and others.
