Out here in Cali its almost impossible to find a real New York bagel. The store boughts are simply round wonderbread with holes; few bagel places even come close to true bagel-osity.
Noah's is about the only place out here where the bagels are made correctly. Crisp outer crust and doughy-fluffy inside. Fantastic!

They are delicious---but full of transfats. There are other yummy bagels that are much healthier. (Marin, H & H, etc.) Have you noticed that they do not list ingredients. If you care about heart, etc. health, stay away from hydroginated ingredients--including partially hydro.

As far is bagels go, this place has a large selection. They look pretty cool when you get them. Spread stuff on it and it taste better.

Yes, there are thousands of Ma and Pa breakfast joints out there. Tiny places with good food served by good people. And no, I'm not proud that some morning I slink past these noble establishments and head for Noah's instead. But damnit, they really do serve up a decent bagel. Especially their onion bagels. With sun-dried tomato cream cheese. And hot coffee.

So Ma and Pa, I love you. And you can count on me nine times out of ten. But every once in a while, I'm going to give in to the lure of a toasted Noah's bagel. And I'm going to like it.
