I ust wanted to leave a comment for whomever wrote about their daughter working there. As a BUSSER you only make about 3-8% of what the waitresses make. And at a small breakfast joint, you don't rack the tips up quickly. When the bill is low patrons generally leave low tips, even if you make 20% its not a whole lot. I worked at one for 8 years 6am to 2pm plus an hour of cleaning making it a 9 hour day and if i made out with over a hundred that was unbelievable. and then you tip out your cook, dishwasher, and busser(s) 5% of that total. So its usually split among 3-5 people. I am writing this so people are aware b/c if you stopped by my restaurant and tried to have a stink about a BUSSER only making 32 dollars I would let you have it. PS she should be making an hourly wage too, if shes not get her outta there!

Well, my mom owns this restraunt (manager,owner,cook) and (not just because she owns it ) it is a very great place. I love going out on the deck. There is a chipmunk there who comes to visit. His name is Zeek. She is planning to remodel the restraunt so go back there soon!

My daughter, who turned 16, is working there to make a bit of money this summer as a bus person.
Last Tuesday she came home after a 8 hour shift with $32 Dollars in her pocket.
Needless to say, I had to step by and talk to the manager. I suppose waitresses do not like to share their tips.
The minimum wage in MA is $6.75 after all.
Everything else is "child slavery", or did we already degress to "Chinese" standards in the US?!

I was wonderfully suprized one day. We decided to stop for breakfast at a restaurant that we had passed by several times, in the quaint little town of South Egremont, without noticing. They offered indoor or brookside dining. The deck overlooked a stream and a nicely wooded area,(we saw alot of wildlife.)The menu was extensive, serving both breakfast and lunch all day. We had a wonderful meal in a wonderful environment. This is now our breakfast place almost every weekend. If you ever pass by, it is worth turning around to enjoy a relaxing meal.
