I've been going to Al's for 20 years. They moved from Conduit St to near Whirlaway Golf in Methuen. The place is bigger and can accommodate more patrons now. Al's is divey and a greasy spoon,but the food is yummy,crowded,and loud. Perfect weekend, casual breakfast spot. Just get up and go spot. Waitresses have been there for ages and they are no nonsense type of gals. Sometimes the food comes super fast and sometimes it comes super slow. Food is yummy...HUGE portions, coffee is refilled constantly. Lots of locals (patrons). Great place to take kids as it is loud and busy- no one will notice a sqwiggly,noisy kid. I would recommend, but know that this place is not fancy. Always a line on the weekends.

waitress was completely miserable and made multiple mistakes on our order. She never came around and asked if we wanted more coffee, then when the meal was done I commented to her and she raised her voice and told me I was not going to yell at her the way I yelled at my children!!!! I hated to break it to her, but even my sister, whom I was with, said my 4 kids and 3 nephews were very well behaved and I only had to remind them once to quiet down. That was my first and last time there, which is sad as I know the owners casually. Also, we have gone many other places where the food quality was just as good if not better and paid $20 less for the same order.

a fairly small restaurant. serving breakfast only. service is very good. al does all the cooking.
