I do not deny that some of the reviewers here had a bad experience at OK Cafe as there isn't a place on earth that is perfect. However, to say the service there is terrible is a total and complete lie. I have a relative and friend who both work at OK and I am familiar with the owners also. Let me tell you this place is among the most fanatical I have ever seen when it comes to quality and service. I have enough experience in food service in my life to know what the "status quo" is when it comes to operating an establishment, OK is far from that. They use almost NO FROZEN FOOD whatsoever and in this modern day and age that alone speak volumes. Their training program for their waitstaff is incredibly demanding and almost militaryesque (I know that's not a word) and I can only Imagine what they put the managers through if training for a lowly server lasts over a month! I adore the food at ok and will continue to frequent this establishment as long as their philosophy stays the same.

As a harried working mom of two adorable but extremely active elementary aged children I have to say that this restaurant makes us feel welcome and COMPLETELY at ease. The menus are kid friendly, the staff go out of their way to make you feel like you are their only customer, and the kids feel like they are being spoiled by a favorite auntie. If you want your kids'eyes to go pop out of their little heads with greed, and their little mouths to go wide with tongue slapping wonder, let them order the classic cheese burgers, or grilled cheese sandwiches, huge 50's style milk shakes, with a heaping plate of those sweet potatoe chips and blue cheese dressing. If you ask my kids' opinion this is their rating, OK Cafe is number 1, Buckhead Diner#2, and Cheesecake Factory #3 on their top list of favorite eateries in Atlanta.

The OK Cafe to me is about more than food, although the menu is great and the food very good. For me it is about atmosphere, memories, and good, warm feelings. The waitresses have been great every time I have been there over the years. My name has been crossed off the wait list--but do you think I will let that spoil a good time?? No Sir!! I have met many friends there for breakfast, lunch or dinner, have held or attended business meetings numerous times there, once took a group of tired preachers there to eat and wind down late at night, taken my daughters and grandkids there....I love it. And I am not rich, white or great looking......you will get out of an experience what you put into it!! The Okay Cafe is great!!!

The OK Cafe is more than OK. They offer good food, and good coffee in a comfortable atmosphere. Most importantly they have excellent Bacon. It is very, very thick. I've also noticed the place tends to get a little crowded but it's worth a 5 minute wait if you have time.

I have no idea what the previous reviewer was talking about - this being a snooty kind of restaurant?!

The staff is so sweet, I have never had my name crossed off, or been looked down upon for the way I looked. I've gone in jeans and a sweatshirt, and I've gone dressed up.

This restaurant is NOTHING like Buckhead-type restaurants. Apparently the above reviewer was a little too uptight - an attitude not appreciated at such an awesome laid back atmosphere.

The food is amazing, not too lo-cal, but worth every gram of fat. I love everything about this restaurant!

I had not been to the OK Cafe for some time, but yesterday my son and daughter were both in town, so I decided to "impress" them with a good breakfast. The rush was over when we arrived at 10:00, but we waited over 35 minutes at the table for our food. COLD eggs, pancakes, etc. No offer for a coffee refill despite empty cups-- my kids would have been more impressed with Waffle House.

I lived just south of Atlanta for five years and made sure that whenever I was in the Atlanta area I made a stop at the OK. You always know you'll be getting a great meal no matter what you order off the menu. I now live a thousand miles away (Buffalo, NY) but whenever I make it back to Atlanta one of the highlights of my visit is a stop at the OK Cafe!

A very dear friend and I frequent the OK Cafe at least once a month. We have gone for both breakfast and lunch. During our times there I'm sure he would agree in me saying that the food was not exceptional, but the atmosphere was nice. I think thats why we continue to patronize the establishment. I'm sure there are other places where the food is better but the overall feel of the place is just what we need when catching up on what is going on one another's lives. The waitstaff is exceptionally knowledgeable about what served and are very patient with their sevice. My friend and I will continue to meet at the OK Cafe as long as their overall atmosphere doesn't change.

This place is populated by an arrogant staff --- from the arrogant managers to the surly wait staff. They believe that because they are in "Buckhead" [sort of ... Buckhead is ACTUALLY a few miles to the EAST] that they can be snooty. I boycotted the place for FOUR YEARS --- from 1993 to 1997 --- because of the bad service. If you complain, they blow you off [figuratively], and the most they will offer you as compensation is a CUP OF COFFEE!!!! What about those of us who DON'T DRINK COFFEE??? I have been there several times when they have walked right past me in the waiting line to seat others behind me. I have also put my name on the waiting list only to have it CROSSED OFF without calling me because they CANNOT PRONONCE IT!!! Okay ... if you are white, rich, and/or visually attractive, you can eat their fat-laden food and perhaps be treated acceptably. Otherwise, you would be better off eating in a WAFFLE HOUSE, where, at least they don't look down their noses at you!

After working at this restaurant for several years, my biggest compliment is that I would take my mother there to eat on any occasion.

Some behind the scenes information for diners:

The kitchen is spotless as are the server stations and even the dish area.

The food is of the highest quality. They do not purchase low grade ingredients.

Your servers will be knowledgeable. All staff has to cook in the kitchen before serving customers.

And we genuinely enjoy working there. I put myself through college and honestly enjoyed each year there.

A mix between a 50's style diner and an upscale country cafe, OK Cafe is a comfy and interesting place for breakfast. There is going to be a wait for a table on any weekend morning but the folks waiting are usually friendly and they provide a nice place to sit and read the paper or people-watch while you wait. I met my Aunt and Uncle at the restaurant and despite my playful uncle's notoriously jestful behavior toward waitstaff, our waitress was good humored, attentive and pleasant.

The menu at OK Cafe has something for everyone, from fruit smoothies and egg white omelettes to french toast and pancakes.

I had the egg white omelette. They managed to make this healthy version as tasty as the regular one. I would recommend the OK Cafe to anyone, but especially for large parties because of the diverse menu.
