Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

(1 serving)    Printable Version
  • 1/2 banana cut into chunks
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cold skim milk or soy milk
  • 1 Tablespoon strawberry syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
1. Put everything in a blender.

2. Blend until smooth.

3. Pour into a tall glass and drink!

This recipe asks for strawberry syrup, but that could be replaced by a couple of fresh strawberries and a teaspoon of honey.

Amazing! At first, I thought it would be weird putting strawberry syrup but I tried it and it was REALLY good!

From smoothie lover

I think that some smoothie recipes should be made out of real fruit so the smoothies could actually be healthy.

I made a couple susbstitutions to this recipe instead of 1/2 cup ice cubes I used 1/2 c frozen low fat strawberry yogurt. Strawberry syrup was replaced with 1/4 frozen sliced strawberries, peaches or whatever other fruit is in the freezer. 1/2 c soy, skim or regular milk was decreased to 1/4 and 1/4 plain or flavored yogurt added.
