Bacon Cheese Pie

- For The Pastry:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash garlic salt
- 1/3 cup shortening

2 to 3 Tablespoons cold water
- For The Filling:
- 6 slices bacon
- 3 ounces sliced Swiss cheese
- 4 eggs - lightly beaten
- 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
- 2 cups light cream
For the filling: Dice bacon, fry crisp. Drain, spread in pie shell, cover with cheese slices. Combine other ingredients, strain into pie shell. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes more, until silver knife inserted in pie comes out clean.

I liked everything about this except for the garlic salt in the crust. It seemed out of character with the overall taste. I still liked the pie a lot, but I'd definitely skip that one ingredient next time... and I'd increase the bacon to 8 slices.
