Honeydew Smoothie
(2 servings) Printable Version
- 2 cups honeydew melon - cut into small pieces
- 3/4 cup plain or vanilla low-fat yogurt
- 1/4 cup apple or grape juice
- 4 or 5 ice cubes - crushed
* My blender might not be as good as yours. I have to crush my ice first or else I always end up with a couple chunks of ice in my smoothies. With a more powerful blender, you probably don't have to crush the ice.
This is a really fresh tasting smoothie that will wake up your senses. I've also tried this recipe with a combination of melons and it worked really well.

Yeah, melons and smoothies are a hard sell. I've never made one that was truly excellent. This is a little better than others I've tried, but there's still the sense that the melon and yogurt don't really get along. Grape juice was an interesting touch, but it was still kind of mediocre.

It was okay, but I probably won't try it again.
