The Cottage Cafe is a great family restaurant for breakfast and lunch. We stop by whenever we are in town for a visit. The service is friendly and competent (though sometimes a bit slow) and the food is great.

The biscuits and gravy here are excellent, a must try for any newbies. They also serve a tasty California Eggs Benedict (with regular bacon and avocado) and their pancakes, waffle and egg dishes are excellent. Quick on the coffee refills and accommodating of special requests, this is our favorite breakfast spot in Ventura.
