Many diners are familiar with the I.H.O.P. chain of restaurants and sometimes we may have been disappointed with either the service or the food (which is probably due to the Manager's lack of effective leadership), but I am happy to report that the Rosemead location shines best in both areas of the Breakfast Department on the weekends. The employees here are so very friendly and eager to please...even the Manager jumps in to help out whenever the place is super busy! The food is good here, too: the Buttermilk Pancakes are fluffy and delicious; the Pork Sausage Links are perfectly seasoned and full of flavor; and the Bacon is good, too, even though the bacon is sliced too thin for my taste. If you order Coffee, a carafe of fresh, hot Coffee is presented at the table for your convenience, and orders of Orange Juice come with FREE refills, too!

I highly recommend the following Breakfast entrees:

- SWEDISH Pancakes w/Lingonberries & Lingonberry Butter: Mmm!
- BONE-IN Ham Steak & Eggs: The ham is big, THICK, and oh, so juicy!
- DOUBLE Blueberry Pancakes: Blueberries in the pancake batter topped with a Blueberry compote and finished off with a dollop of whipped cream...decadent, yes, but blueberries are so good for your eyesight, right?
- STRAWBERRY Crepes w/Cream Cheese & Whipped Cream: This entree is not on the regular menu; it is referred to as a "special, seasonal entree," so when it is available, try it...it is absolutely delicious!


On the downside, their Hash Browns are too soft and not crispy on the outside--as if they'd been cooked via steam instead of fried. And the Sourdough Toast is a disappointment, too--crumbly and too bland-tasting. I can't even taste any Sourdough flavor.
