Just made this today and it turned out perfect. I added 1 tablespoon of fresh minced ginger, 1 cup of fresh diced apple (red or green), and 8 slices of fried (and drained) chopped bacon.

So, I had no millet. Instead, I chose oatmeal. And I sadly couldn't get any ginger. It went well. But I have a question: Is the diced sweet potato supposed to stay diced or should it become part of the porridge itself? Also, how long can I store it in the fridge?

Substitute rice (or any other grain) for the millet.
