Fruit & Fibre: Dates, Raisins & Walnuts

Fruit & Fibre: Dates, Raisins & Walnuts From: Post
Introduced in 1982

This cereal was introduced at the same time as Post Fruit & Fibre with Apples & Cinnamon. A magazine ad introducing the cereals described them like this:

"Introducing Post Fruit & Fibre. It tastes so good, you forget the fiber. People are having trouble remembering the name of New Post Fruit & Fibre cereal. It's so delicious, they recall the real fruit - dates, raisins & walnuts or apples & cinnamon - but they forget the wholesome fiber. Remember to try it. Then try to remember it."

Company Description: Founded by C.W. Post, the company began in 1895 in Battle Creek, Michigan under the name Postum Cereals. Their first product was a coffee substitute called Postum. The first breakfast cereal to come from the company was Grape-Nuts in 1897... Read on and see all cereals from Post

I sure wish that they would bring it back. Just don't change the way it was made. It was the very best.

I want to buy my cereal! Where is it? I love the dates, walnuts and raisins. Where is it? How do I buy it? Where!?

Cereal Rating (out of 5):

I am proposing that Post Cereals relaunch Fruit & Fibre, with its classic 1980s marketing. This was my #2 all-time favorite cereal, behind Cheerios. The new slogan should be "Uplift your day" - because Fruit & Fibre sure uplifted mine.

This was the BEST CEREAL, in the World. Why did they stop making it? I was at my healthiest when I was eating this cereal every morning. Please bring it back.

Oh yeah, I remember this one... I even remember the commercial "it tastes so good, you'll forget all about the fiber" and when the actor was asked the name of the cereal, they'd always reply "it's called fruit and.... um? Wait, let me take another bite & I'll remember. It's fruit and... and... uh" *lol* This was actually pretty good. Even I liked it back then, and back then I was a kid with an extreme prejudice for cartoony shapes, designs and artificial colors/flavors *lol* so that's GOTTA say SOMETHING *lol* Packed with yummy dried fruit pieces and sometimes nuts. I remember there being one with dried apple pieces, that's the one I loved the most. I hear this cereal is still being made, but I'm sure it's not as good... nowadays, it's probably got more processing chemicals than fruit *LOL*
