C.W. Post
From: Post
Introduced in 1974 This was granola-type cereal named after Charles William Post, the founder of Post cereals (original called Postum Cereals). C. W. Post cereal was available in two varieties - one with raisins and one without raisins. The taste and texture of the cereal was very similar to Post's 2008 cereal Honey Roasted Just Bunches! Fans of C.W. Post cereal have also noted that cereals Oats & Honey Granola from Cascadian Farm and 100% Natural Oats & Honey Granola from Quaker come close to the spirit of the discontinued cereal. In a mid-70's commercial, a TV spokesman said, "I feel good about serving C.W. Post to my family." Company Description: Founded by C.W. Post, the company began in 1895 in Battle Creek, Michigan under the name Postum Cereals. Their first product was a coffee substitute called Postum. The first breakfast cereal to come from the company was Grape-Nuts in 1897... Read on and see all cereals from Post Additional Images Upload an image for this cereal Comments About This Cereal

I agree this was the best cereal ever...a little expensive but worth every penny! I wish they would bring it back too! Comment submitted: 4/20/2013 (#11766) By J.J. Jay
Agreed, this was the best cereal. Post must have lost the recipe or didn't buy the rights to produce. Big mistake! Comment submitted: 4/17/2013 (#11724) By Sammy
Nothing else compares. Everything else is an imitation! Comment submitted: 4/7/2013 (#11557) By Max Shadow
Ohh! I loved this cereal! Why... Post... WHY?!?! My wife berates me for taking the flakes out of the Honey Bunches of Oats to try to recreate the flavor of C.W. Post. Comment submitted: 3/12/2013 (#11200) By lisarode1963 (Team Breakfast Member)
I really liked this cereal as a kid also. I still have my original "C.W. Post Recipe Box" and it is in excellent condition to anyone who would like to purchase it. I try duplicating the cereal recipe, but it's just NOT the same! Comment submitted: 2/24/2013 (#11006) By bunny
Best cereal ever. No other granola has compared, no others ever will! Bring it back, Post! Comment submitted: 12/16/2012 (#10136) By Shawna
I miss C.W. Post and have for a very long time. Bring it back! And with the same recipe. Don't get rid of a good thing. Comment submitted: 11/27/2012 (#10027) By Hollywood
I loved this cereal as much as any sweet kids cereal I ever had if not more and all of those are still around rotting out a new generations of kid's teeth. Bring back the good stuff. Someone get this message board to Post. Comment submitted: 11/11/2012 (#9851) By Siberian Mom

Loved it. Tasted great, but made me the world's gassiest 10-year-old. Comment submitted: 8/20/2012 (#8850) View all 23 comments for this cereal. |
