Slow As Molasses Eggs

(1 serving)    Printable Version
  • 1/2 cup molasses syrup
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 thick slices of buttered toast (preferably a good bakery bread!)
Pour molasses into a skillet and bring to a boil. Gently drop eggs into the pan, one at a time, and turn heat down to a simmer. Cook the eggs, basting with the syrup until the eggs are firm. Lift eggs onto toast, and pour remaining syrup over the top and serve.

Up to 15 minute cooking time.

TIPS
Make sure to use two bowls to check eggs, make sure no rotten one in the bunch before adding to food.

Eggs cooked in molasses and served on toast. One of our crazier recipe submissions. Is it legit?

Fry 2 eggs and drizzle little bit of molasses on top. That's the way to try a egg. Trust me. It's awesome.

It was ok. The eggs curdled while in the molasses and made for a very wierd and not-appetizing texture. I am not really sure how to fix that!
