Introduced in 2006 According to the title of a December 1, 2005 press release announcing this cereal, "New Life Vanilla Yogurt Crunch Cereal Offers Tempting Taste and Nutrition." The following text is from that press release: "Life Cereal as we know it just keeps getting better! Quaker Oats this month introduces new Life Vanilla Yogurt Crunch, combining the wholesome goodness of classic Life cereal with the grown-up taste of yogurt. The new cereal is made with whole grain Quaker Oats and features crunchy oat clusters covered with creamy vanilla flavored yogurt. New Life Vanilla Yogurt Crunch is low-fat, delivers nine essential vitamins and minerals and provides a good source of calcium and fiber (4 grams of fiber per serving). "Life Vanilla Yogurt Crunch joins three existing Life Cereal varieties: Life, Cinnamon Life and Honey Graham Life, all of which are made with whole grain oats and recognized by the Food and Drug Administration to help reduce the risk of heart disease. Nutrition experts agree that both kids and adults need to fit more whole grains and fiber into the diet. Currently, more than 90 percent of Americans fail to consume the recommended amount of whole grains or fiber. "Life Vanilla Yogurt Crunch will be available nationwide starting in January 2006. Since its launch in 1961, Life Cereal has grown into one of the largest brands in the ready-to-eat category. Its legendary 'Mikey' commercial, which aired from 1972 until 1984, was one of the longest-running commercials of all time and made the brand a household name."
