Krumbles
From: Kellogg's
Introduced in 1912

Memorable tag lines:
  • Crisp shreds of Golden Goodness... a dish that's a winner for wartime!
  • The new whole wheat food with the delicious flavor originated by the Kellogg's Toasted CornFlake Co.
  • All wheat. Ready to Eat.
According to cereal legend, this cereal began as an attempt by Kellogg's to make shredded wheat biscuits. Unfortunately... or fortunately... the biscuits crumbled in the package. Instead of backtracking to make the perfect biscuit, Kellogg's decided to crumble the broken biscuits even more and sell them as Krumbles cereal.

Company Description: Kellogg's was originally founded as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company in 1906. The company's founder Will Keith Kellogg is credited with inventing corn flakes along with his brother John Harvey Kellogg. The company was renamed the Kellogg Company in 1922... I would also buy it again if it was to come back. Cereal they way it used to be... GREAT.

This was also my favorite cereal. My theory is that it looked like bran but wasn't. Those who wanted bran bought it and were disappointed. Those who didn't want bran avoided it out of confusion. But it was the best, and Kellogg's assertion that they offer acceptable substitutes is nonsense. For me, it's Krumbles or Nothing! Get that, Kellogg's!

Why did Kellogg's quit making Krumbles? All of a sudden, it was gone and never came back. I don't understand why. It was good, wholesome cereal and I loved it. Please Kellogg's, bring it back, even if it's just for us old timers!

I ate it when I was a kid. I wondered why they stopped making it. It was Kellogg's best cereal ever.

Yes. Please bring it back. All Bran may look like Krumbles but it tastes like cardboard.

My parents ate Krumbles for years and I enjoyed them also. We bought a box of Krumbles every time we went grocery shopping. It would be a very smart move to bring that cereal back. - by bob
