Holleb's Supreme Brownie Toasted Corn Flakes
From: Independent / Undefined

The complete name of this product was "Holleb's Supreme Brownie Toasted Corn Flakes." So far, we have conflicting information on the year of introduction. Once source has this cereal coming out in the mid-40s, while another told us 1954 or 1955. If you have more information about this cereal, please post a comment below.

This is an interesting cereal. It's from Holleb & Co of Chicago, IL. When the title reads, "brownie toasted", it doesn't have anything to do with brownie baked goods or chocolate. In this case, "brownies" were little characters (think Keebler elves) fictionally responsible for toasting the corn flakes. You can see them goofing around the cereal bowl on the box.

Company Description: The company classification of "Independent / Undefined" is a catch-all for several cereals in our database. This category includes 1) cereals from smaller companies with a near-national distribution; 2) cereals whose manufacturer we've been unable to determine; and 3)... I just picked up an Original un-opened Mint Condition Box of Hollebs Brownie Corn Flakes at an Advertising Show... I paid $45.00 for it.

Found two unfolded boxes in our wedding picture frame from February 1956. They are in perfect condition and have never been folded. Photo studio was in Johnstown, PA.

My husband and I just found 2 cereal boxes in mint condition behind a picture of my mother-in-law and her mom. Did anyone find out if they were worth anything?

I have found also behind a picture frame 1 printed sheet of 10 match book covers with "Holleb's Ragamuffin Elberta Peaches and Holleb's Coffee." Anyone have any ideas on value? They have to be from 1950 or 51.

We also have two cereal boxes? Has anyone found out if they're worth anything yet?

I found 2 folded boxes of Holleb's Corn Flakes (flavored with malt, sugar & salt) behind a picture frame. Is there a market for these boxes?

I also found 8 unfolded boxes behind my parents wedding picture and i had never heard of this company before. Are they worth anything or as it seems from all the other comments that they were just popular to put under picture frames. Dianeyouhere@msn.com

I recently came across two never folded or used boxes of Holleb's. They are in perfect condition. And I don't know what to do with them!
