  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 jigger rum
Add salt to whole eggs and egg yolks and beat until thick and lemon-colored. Add sugar, butter and rum and continue to beat. Fold into the flour and knead until dough blisters. Cut into 4 inch strips.

Fry in hot fat (about 370 degrees) until lightly browned.

Transfer to stacked paper towels to remove excess oil. Sprinkle with powdered sugar once cooled.


Chruscik are bow-shaped pastries that are fried and dusted with confectioners' sugar. They are also called Polish Angel Wings.
