Peach Kolaches

Peach Kolaches
(25 servings)    Printable Version

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 pkgs instant yeast
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 jar of peach preserves
Scald 2 cups milk, add butter. In mixing bowl, lightly scramble egg, add sugar and salt. Pour milk into bowl, stir, cool to lukewarm. Add yeast, and gradually add flour. Knead until smooth. Cover and let rise until doubled(1hour). Roll into 2 inch balls, place 1 inch apart on baking sheet, cover and let rise 30 minutes. Create depression in middle of roll, place 1 tbsp peach preserves into hollow. Bake at 350 F 15 to 20 minutes.


Makes 36 rolls.
