Cranberry Orange Smoothie

Cranberry Orange Smoothie

(4 servings)    Printable Version
  • 1 cups low-fat milk
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup cranberry juice
  • 2 large bananas - cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar or sugar substitute equivalent
  • 16 ice cubes - crushed
This is a nice smoothie to wake up the senses. The cranberry juice adds a fruity tang to otherwise familiar smoothie flavors. I found that the sugar wasn't necessary. I recommend tasting it before you add the sugar to see how much added sweetener you want. (Recipe submitted in 2006. It was tested and photographed in November 2013.)

Note From Recipe Submitter:

For a wild brunch, go ahead and add one shot of orange liquor to each serving. I do.

An icy cold, creamy smoothie with cranberry juice, orange juice and bananas.

Dairy Queen makes a cranberry orange smoothie that I really like. But I haven't been able to find a recipe that matches the flavor of DQ's smoothie. I tried the recipe above, but it was not a match to the flavor. The above is not a bad recipe, but it was not what I was looking for. Are there any recipes available that allow the cranberry and orange flavors come through?
