It's kind of insane that throngs of people wait 20-30 minutes for a table at IHOP for a weekend breakfast (not that I haven't done it), with the vastly superior Arner's just down the street. And, with their "A-Team" breakfast featuring pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausages for $6.79 (2010), the prices are comparable to to the big breakfast chains. You're not going to get sausages like this at a chain, though. You're not going to get malted waffles, homemade sticky buns and danish, or scrapple, either. And the cooks know how to make the increasingly elusive perfect egg over easy, too.
