Rocky's has tried to be everything and nothing to the folk on the hill. One thing you notice right from the start is the mis-matched chairs and tables.
While this is not what makes a good restaurant it does tell the customer they did not spend much money to get the place open. Ranch House one exit away on the other hand did a complete overhaul and first class job. This place is small, one waitress and a cook. A bit dark and gloomey for my taste but its the food and coffee I seek. Since they don't seem to get much traffic the coffee tends to not be fresh or hot. The food was just OK and nothing special.

I noticed they had spent the money to put a sign down by Castaic. The first one was far too busy with text too small to read. They listed too many things so drivers who passed by ended up more confused then informed. Then the sign changed to something more simple, like "GOOD FOOD" Exit 125. One can learn alot by looking at the Carls Jr. signs which obviously are backed by millions of dollars to do what they do.

They also tried many things such as Pizza, etc. They also promote "Best food on the mountain". Which should be left to the people. I will say it's miles ahead of the truck stop across the road. The Waitress is nice, service was good, the food needs something, again I wish the owners would check out 24th Street Cafe in Bakersfield for what I feel is the great place. I'd love to have something like that in Lebec. Right now it's the only best place for breakfast in town. It's a toss up between Ranch House and Rocky's RH is more expensive but nicer inside.
