I cannot say enough what an undiscovered treasure this place is. A former co-worker and fellow breakfast-philiac treated me to my first experience 2 weeks before I left Chicago to open a breakfast restuarant in Phoenix (under construction). I managed to get there 3 more times before I left.
This is the perfect find, so much so that I'm hesitant to share it: understated storefront, relaxed ambiance set off by ultra-bohemian service staff, DYNAMITE food. This place is non-pretentious, daring, and insanely unique. RUN, DON'T WALK to brunch at Lula. Dinner is also inventive and intimate... try the Monday Night Farm Dinner.

PS, if by divine intervention they happen to be serving the banana cream pie when you go, order it FIRST so you can make sure it doesn't run out. This is pie perfection. I wept slightly.
