If you want to find pride in this town, just walk into the 9th Street Cafe and sit down at a table. Articles from the history of this town are neatly placed on every table with a thick but very clear lacquer on top and no two articles are alike. Smoking and non smoking sections are available. My husband and I seated ourselves at about 8:00 a.m., water was instantly on the table for us and we were asked if we wanted coffee, but we are not coffee drinkers, hence the doesn't apply for the coffee rating. Sorry. We ordered our breakfasts at about 8:10, and less then ten minutes later, it was sitting in front of us! I had the Preston Scramble, three eggs, sausage and hash browns all scrambled together and topped with shredded cheddar cheese and rye toast on the side. YUM! We were done eating and out the door by 8:25 a.m., plenty of time for my husband to drop me back off at the hotel and go to his interview. If you like the hometown, family cafe feeling, I highly recommend you stop in at the 9th Street Cafe. Inexpensive, fast and friendly service and good food.
