Microwave Peanut Butter Oatmeal

(1 serving)

  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1 cup water
  • dash salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (slightly rounded)
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons peanut butter
You couldn't ask for an easier breakfast. My total cooking time was 2 minutes. After tasting it with 2 Tablespoons of peanut butter mixed in, I decided that it only needed 1 teaspoon of sugar for the perfect amount of sweetness. I tried this oatmeal with both creamy peanut butter and crunchy peanut butter. I preferred the crunchy because the overall texture was a bit more interesting. I approve this recipe. It was as tasty as it was quick. (This recipe was submitted in September 2014. It was tested and photographed in October 2014.)

Note From Recipe Submitter:

This recipe has been a breakfast staple of ours for years! I recommend slightly rounding your teaspoons of sugar; if you flatten them, the oatmeal may come out a tad salty. I never measure my peanut butter, but err on the side of too much. Otherwise, the peanut butter flavor will be lacking.

This oatmeal makes for a "stick to your ribs" kind of breakfast too.

Classic peanut butter oatmeal taste from the microwave. Only takes a couple minutes to prepare.
