Sesame Oatmeal

(1 serving)

  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • a sprinkle of flax seeds
  • 1 dash garlic powder
  • 1 dash low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 dash sesame oil
  • fresh cracked pepper - to taste
Add oats, seeds, garlic, pepper and soy sauce to water and cook oatmeal as directed. Stir in the small amount of sesame oil (to taste) when oatmeal is cooked. No salt needed is needed for this recipe.

I prefer savory oatmeal over sweet for breakfast, and I am always trying new stir-ins. This is one I came up with that I like a lot.
