Maple Bacon Strips

- 1/2 pound bacon
-
maple syrup - for drizzling
This is a super easy way to take standard bacon and make it unique. The mix of sweet maple with smokey bacon is a party for the taste buds. I’d suggest one change to the recipe as submitted. Instead of frying then baking, simply bake. I placed my bacon on a cookie sheet and baked for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Then, I drained off the grease, drizzled on the maple syrup and baked for an additional 7 to 8 minutes. The resulting bacon was terrific. (This recipe was submitted in 2009. It was tested and photographed in July 2014.)

How To Make Maple Bacon Strips
Cook the bacon in the skillet, remove and blot the excess grease from it with paper towels.
Line the bacon strips up on a cookie sheet and drizzled the strips with maple syrup. Place the cookie sheet in a 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until bubbly and sticky.

This is an extremely popular recipe with the younger crowd. Just make sure to use real maple syrup, not the fake sugar or high fructose corn syrup varieties.
