Delicious & Pure French Toast

(1 serving)

  • 2 slices whole-grain bread
  • 1 to 2 large eggs
  • cinnamon to taste
  • about 1/4 cup skim milk
  • about 1/4 cup canola oil (more or less depending on what you want)
  • powdered sugar to taste
  • maple syrup to taste
Pour the oil in a skillet and heat on medium-high. Mix together the eggs, cinnamon, and skim milk in a bowl (big enough to dip the bread into). Dip the bread thoroughly in the egg mixture, and place the bread in the skillet. Turn over frequently until toast looks done.

Place bread on paper towels to let extra oil soak up, then serve immediately with maple syrup and powdered sugar on top.

This is my family's basic French toast recipe. It uses whole grain toast and skim milk, so you get taste and little bit of nutrition.
