Orange Sauce (For Pancakes)

(6 servings)

  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated orange peel
  • 2 Tablespoons chopped dried cranberries or cherries or other dried fruit (optional)
Mix all ingredients together in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Stirring often, cook until mixture is thick and bubbly. Reduce heat to low and cook 3 minutes more.

Serve over pancakes or waffles for a fun, fresh change of pace.


In addition to a great pancake syrup, this makes a great topping for iced cream.
