  
Banana Yam Smoothie
   
(4 servings)
   
		- 1 medium yam
 -  
1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
 -  
1 cup low-fat milk
 -  
1 cup ice cubes
 -  
1 teaspoon white sugar
 -  
1 medium banana - sliced
  
		Prick yam with a fork, and place on a plate. Cook in the microwave for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until tender. Cool, peel and dice.  
 
Combine the yam, yogurt, milk, ice cubes, sugar and banana in the container of a blender. Blend until smooth.
  
  
		
		
		I thought a yam smoothie sounded wierd too until I tried it.  I like it now.  Not low-carb, but provides a nice morning boost.
