Sticky Bun Noodle Kugel

  • 1 pound medium egg noodles - cooked and drained
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 4 large eggs - well beaten
  • 5 additional Tablespoons margarine - melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium sauce pan, melt the entire stick of margarine and add 1 cup brown sugar to it. Stir well.

Pour the sugar mixture into the bottom of a bundt pan, and press pecan halves into the mixture.

In a large mixxing bowl, mix together all remaining ingredients EXCEPT the noodles, then add mixture to to the cooked noodles. Stir gently to coat noodles without breaking them.

Carefully spoon everything into the bundt pan.

Bake for one hour.

Invert onto a plate to serve.


Kugel (KOO-gel) is a baked pudding, in the style of the British puddings. Koogel actually means "ball" or "cannonball" in German.
