This is actually the same variation on shirred eggs or "oeuf en cocotte" that I've been making for a while. It's super delicious!

A tip for lowering the prep time however:

Put the bacon strips in the muffin tin in a cup form (without the egg), and place them then in the oven while it pre heats. The pre heating will soften up the bacon fat so that it won't stick and the bacon itself will dry a wee bit and harden in the form of the cup.

Then when the over is pre-heated just take out the tin. put the eggs and cream (I use 30% cream, about a normal spoon per 2 eggs to enrichen the texture) in, and put it back in the oven.

One of the best recipes for waking up with a hangover. Pop these in the oven, and go get a quick shower. By the time you're back dinner is served!
