Thank you Jessica. This helped out a lot. I made my waffle batter and then realized... where's all our maple syrup?! It's not as good as pure maple syrup or Mrs. Butterworth (hmmm... I wonder if you added some butter)... but it really helped when we needed a last second replacement.

I need to know how to keep this wonderful syrup from turning to sugar crystals -- do I need to add something?

This recipe calls for 1/2 light brown sugar. One would have to think this means 1/2 cup light brown sugar.

From mosiac girl

For years I have made a similar recipe which uses 1 cup light corn syrup, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup water and flavorings. However, I am now unable to find a acceptable maple flavoring. The brands I find contain sulfites and artificial color. Can anyone recommend a source for maple flavoring?
