Banana Split Breakfast Drink

Banana Split Breakfast Drink
(3 servings)    Printable Version

  • 1 10 oz pkg of Mori-Nu Firm Tofu
  • 1/2 cup Hersheys Chocolate Syrup
  • 1 large (or 2 small) ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup crushed pineapple (optional)
Combine all ingredients in blender. Whip until smooth.

When served very cold (not frozen) this reminds me of Dairy Queen's Banana Split Blizzard.

Recipe Rating (out of 5):

I was drawn to this recipe, because the three things I have in excess right now are tofu, pineapples, and bananas. I decided to use my cheap blender, for some reason, which might have been a mistake - i tried blending on "Whip" and on "Liquefy," but the blender didn't make much progress. Because of this difficulty, I did change the recipe by adding 1 cup of pineapple juice to the mix - I mention this, because, in all fairness, I did change the recipe slightly, which alters the outcome. Using this process, I was not pleased with the outcome - it tasted more like something with walnuts, ginseng, etc - some people would like that, but it was a far cry from DQ Blizzards. By adding two bananas instead of one, and a 1 tbsp of vanilla extract, however, I was able to turn this into something delicious. I appreciate the concept, because those were exactly the ingredients I was looking to use.

Sounds good, but not very healthy to start the day. Maybe more of a milkshake.

Hi N.N. - I don't think you need the Tofu. I'd consider replacing it with a little milk and low-fat yogurt.
