"Hmmn. This breakfast sounds a little soggy. Hey lucky2bamboo, did you forget a couple steps? I'd suggest that any one trying this recipe, dip the bread in the mixture and place the bread in a fry pan.

This recipe is getting only average reviews. For a basic French toast recipe that's gotten GREAT reviews, try this one instead.

A very basic French toast. Includes a link to an even better recipe.

I let my bread soak in the egg mixture for about 3-5 minutes, until it gets good and soggy. This gives you a plumper toast and adds a great texture.

Can you use cinnamon sugar as a substitute if you don't have ground cinnamon?

TOAST IT GOOD. Play with pan Temps. Yellow french toast is no where near as good as a nice brown french toast. Restaurants pull the toast off way to early. Tell them to do it well done and they might get it just right.

When I make my french toast, I add nutmeg instead of cinnamon and I too use the Texas Toast bread. Then I top it with real maple syrup... mmmm good!

I don't use vanilla in my recipe but I found the best french toast is made with Texas toast its nice and thick so it don't get soggy.

But I would add just a little sweetener and no cinnamon. Spread with REAL MAPLE SYRUP !!!

Bode this simple tasty recipe which actually is - surprise surprise - a simple recipe, where adding whatever one would want to it is ones own personal prerogative.

Dear Mr. Breakfast,
I loved your breakfast only because of your name. There was a little too much egg though. I love your name. You just sound so professional. Good luck in the business. I love you so much!
