Breakfast Martini

Breakfast Martini

(1 serving)    Printable Version
  • 1 and 3/4 ounces grapefruit vodka
  • 3/4 ounce triple sec
  • 1 ounce grapefruit juice
  • 1 splash simple syrup
  • pink sugar for rim of martini glass
  • maraschino cherry for garnish
Dip the rim of martini glass into a rimmer sponge soaked with simple syrup, followed by a dip into pink sugar - generously coating the rim of the glass.

You can make your own pink sugar by adding pink food coloring to granulated sugar.

In a separate ice-filled glass, pour in the grapefruit vodka, triple sec, grapefruit juice and splash of simple syrup. Cover the glass with a cocktail shaker and shake it up to mix up the ingredients.

Pour the cocktail into the waiting martini glass - using a strainer to prevent ice from going into the drink. Be careful not to disturb the pink sugar lining as you pour.

Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

A unique tart and sweet morning cocktail that will brighten any day.

It was a good drink to serve at my brunch. I made a pitcher of it and didn't 'sugar' the rim of the glass. Regarding previous comment: I am amazed that someone can be such an idiot to turn a recipe page into a political statement.
